Transformation of a courtyard in Riyadh
Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Site area: 270 sqm
Year: 2013 (design), 2014 (construction)
Partners: Artemide, Serralunga
Request
A walled courtyard asking for a new concept of privacy. A home needing additional room for chatting with the visiting grown children. Not just elegant: of a timeless elegance, made to conquer at first glance and to last.
Concept
A wood deck connects indoor and outdoor spaces expanding the perceived space. Wooden screens tall just as much as needed frame entrances and passages enhancing the feel of being in a garden.
Lush climbing vegetation makes the wall facing outwards disappear. At nightfall, the scent of flowers and a gentle lighting let imagination go far away.
Regular, comfortable changes of level create separate areas and entertain the eye with their rhythm. Forniture is reduced to a few, studied elements, with integrated lighting such as Paloma bird and Vas-One by Serralunga.
Construction works have been completed in 2014.
